Help & Setup Guide
The Bizzjoiner Connector enables seamless integration between your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment and your Bizzjoiner customer portal.
This guide provides an overview of how to set up and configure the connector. Use the links below to access detailed step-by-step instructions for each part of the setup process.
What is the Bizzjoiner Connector?
The Bizzjoiner Connector is a Business Central extension that:
- Exposes selected data via secure APIs
- Synchronizes customers, orders, shipments, invoices, and jobs
- Enables easy routines for inviting customers, users and employees to Bizzjoiner.
- Enables real-time communication between Business Central and Bizzjoiner
- Supports role-based access and filtering of shared data
The connector is designed to be secure, flexible, and easy to configure, allowing you to control exactly what information is shared with your customers.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A running Business Central SaaS environment
- A Bizzjoiner site provisioned
- Admin access to:
- Business Central
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- The Bizzjoiner Connector extension installed
Setup Overview
Setting up the connector involves three main steps:
1. Register an Entra ID Application
Create an application in Microsoft Entra ID to allow secure authentication between Business Central and Bizzjoiner.
2. Configure the Connection in Business Central
Set up the connector inside Business Central and connect it to your Bizzjoiner site.
3. Generate and Configure Content Types
Define what data should be exposed to Bizzjoiner by generating and configuring content types.
Security & Access Control
The connector ensures that:
- Only authenticated requests from your Bizzjoiner instance are allowed
- Data is filtered based on configuration and permissions
- Each customer only sees their own data
- Communication is encrypted using secure protocols
You can further restrict access using:
- Filters in the connector setup
- Permission sets in Business Central
- API scope limitations via Entra ID
Data Flow
The integration works as follows:
- Bizzjoiner requests data via API
- Business Central validates the request via Entra ID
- The connector applies filters and permissions
- Data is returned securely to Bizzjoiner
This enables near real-time access to:
- Customers
- Orders
- Shipments
- Jobs
- Invoices
- Documents
Testing the Integration
After setup, you should verify that:
- The connection is active
- Authentication works correctly
- Data is returned as expected
- Filters are applied correctly
Troubleshooting
Common issues include:
- Invalid or missing Entra ID configuration
- Incorrect API permissions
- Missing connector setup in Business Central
- Filters blocking expected data
